I'm gonna be really autistic about Linkin Park because it's an important band to me and this is my blog, I do whatever the hell I want.

So LP came back. They made a show to announce and celebrate their come back. And of all the things that happened in this show, one thing especially stuck with me. The intro. I'm honestly obsessed with it and it has a lot of things within it.

The intro pays homage to lots of Linkin Park era.

There you go. I'm sure I missed things but really, I was oddly excited about recognizing that kick drum and the Wasteland thingy.

Other than that: I'm absolutely in love with that version of the song, I adore Castle Of Glass as a song, it's so fucking beautiful. And to hear it like that? My god, it brings me such joy. And it comes back later to transition to Papercut, that transition tingles my whole spine.

But my favorite part has to be the audience reaction to when they walk on stage, but especially when the guitar starts playing with the notes from Numb. You can tell there is a collective moment of realization from the audience people going like, "Oh shit, they're really back!" and it's so beautiful to hear.

Same thing when the guitar starts on The Emptiness Machine. It's a collective, euphoric, almost sigh of relief from the audience, a really powerful "I missed this so much" from the fans.

I love everything about this. Can't wait for the album. It's been a while since I pre-ordered anything, let alone a CD and let alone a limited edition CD boxset.

Really excited about that release. And it's got an intro track! Really excited about that as well. I love intro tracks on albums, like for exemple, the intro to "To Better Days" by Rain City Drive is one that I really love. It's got elements from lots of songs on the album, I love that.

"Welcome To The..." from Hot Milk comes to mind as well, some of the lyrics gets a call back on the final song of the album, which is a song I adore. I really love listening to the intro followed immediately by that song, actually.

Anyway. Linkin Park is back. I know the internet has really strong opinions about them because the internet hates sincerity, but I love them, they're at the root of all the music I listen to today. I found my love of music through them, and them coming back couldn't be a bigger deal for me.
